China Pakistan proximity is known to all but, the situation starts getting changing a few months ago when Russia started showing interest in Pakistan during BRICS summit. Indo -Russia relation has a robust foundation on various factors mainly Defense equipment.It's all clear that super powers are calibrating their foreign policies according to the need of the time. Russia is trying to get his old clout over the central Asia , which was once part of USSR. In his ambition Pakistan is the nation which can take Russia to central and West Asia in a short time frame. By other route Russia needs to cross Turkey to get access to Eurasia.Now Turkey Russia relation is not going through a smooth path and Russia is also not sure about its relation with Turkey in future. So Russia is diversifying its options. China's growing activities over the region are also a concern for Russia, Russia can't allow China to take all the advantages over the region.Russia can realize that in Sino - Russian relation China is in advantage position because of its geo strategic position so Russia also needs to maintain a cordial relation with China to fulfill its greater interest.
China is connecting its mainland with Central Asia Europe with its OBOR project.China wants to lead the world now and also wants to take the batons of economic dominance from USA.China's domestic politics and condition are also pushing China to look beyond very far regions like Central Asia to get more Oil energy resources from those countries. The connectivity project has also its intention to put a larger sphere of influence over the region and pretending as the big brother of Asia.China's Xinjiang province consists of Uighur muslim tribes to keep a check on them China is growing interactions with Pakistan also to keep a watch over Afghanistan region which has border with its Xingjiang province. China is also inviting Russia to join CPEC project to make Russia at a distance from USA.
In India's point of view a good cordial relation between USA and Russia is a welcoming sign as it will be easier for India to maintain a balance between them as India imports a huge amount of defense equipment from both the countries. A growing China Russia relation is not a good sign for India. There is a great chance that India will get isolated in the region by the Chian- Russia- pakistan axis.
India needs to show a great level of maturity in dealing with these countries by diversifying its options , by reaching to the central Asian and West Asian countries with greater activism.
